The Barbie Diaries is a modern-day computer-animated Barbie movie sequel which was based from a story and screenplay written by Elise Allen and Laura McCreary under the direction of Eric Fogel. The movie which was released in 2006 was distributed by Lionsgate Home Entertainment.
The animated film was composed of a cast ensemble who voiced the caharacters in the movie which includes Barbie voiced by Kelly Sheridan, Courtney by Sarah Edmondson, Tia/Passing Girl 2 by Venus Terzo, Raquelle by Chiara Zanni, Kevin by Matt Hill, Todd by Andrew Francis, Regan by Maryke Hendriske, Dawn by Anna Cummer, Stephanie by Heather Doerkson, and Mr. Wexler/Popular Boy 2 by Joe May.
The plot of the film centred in Barbie and her friends Courtney, Tia, and Kevin. The three girls aims to enter school band contest in order for them to play during the school ball. Kevin helps them to achieve their goals and at the same time they are helping each other for their personal goals this school year. However certain conflict arises and their friendship were tested.
The film shows how friendship conquers pride and how they overcome their thirst for their own desires just to maintain their valued friendship.
