Alvin and the Chipmucks is a 2007 comedy film that stars animated figures of Chipmucks. The fim was based from the animated series of the same title and by characters created by Ross Bagdasarian, Jr. and
Janice Karman. The film was directed by Tim Hill under the production studios of 20th Century Fox, Regency Enterprises, and Bagdasarian Productions. It successfully earned its box office hit with the total gross revenue of $361,336,633 from the budget of $60 million and was distributed by 20th Century Fox worldwide.
The comedy film focused on three chipmucks Alvin, Simon, and Theodore who lived in a tree that was cut down for Christmas and was brought to Los Angeles. Upon arriving in L.A., the chipmucks met the struggling song writer David Seville who had just got his latest written song rejected by a Recording company owned by his former college roommate Ian Hawke. David or “Dave” then discovered that the chipmucks has the talent of singing and thus made a deal with them that he’ll provide them food and shelter for as long as they sing the songs he writes for them.
The main characters in the film were voiced by Justin Long (Ross Bagdasarian, Jr., singing) as Alvin, Matthew Gray Gubler (Steve Vining, singing) as Simon, and Jesse McCartney (Janice Karman, singing) as Theodore. Other supporting casts were Jason Lee as David Seville, David Cross as Ian Hawke, Cameron Richardson as Claire Wilson, Jane Lynch as Gail, Beth Riesgraf as Mother in Store, Adriane Lenox as Vet, and Frank Maharajh as Barry.
