Megamind is a fantasy comedy adventure animation film that was released last Novermber of 2010. The film was written by Alan J. Schoolcraft and Brent Simons and was directed by Tom McGrath. It was created under DreamWorks Animation, Pacific Data Images, and Red Hour Films Studio and was distributed under Paramount Pictures. It earned a total gross income of $321,494,448 worldwide from the budget of $130 million.
The plot of the film centered in the life of a highly-intelligent alien who named himself Megamind which originally wanted to be recognized as a good person. However, things didn’t turned out the way he wanted it since there was another alien who came to earth together with him and was absolutely strong and look similarly like the humans.
He figured out that being a villain was the only way for him to be recognized and accepted by the townsmen of Metro City. On the long run, he made his debut as a super genius super handsome villain while his fellow alien and best rival since they were a baby became the townspeople protector of good – Metro Man.
One day, while they were at their usual hero-villain scenario thing, the undefeated Metro Man was killed and defeated by Megamind. Overwhelmed by winning for the first time, he made himself the Mayor of the town. However as time passes by, he realized that even though everything went exactly according to what he planned it would be, his life is getting more and more boring since Metro Man is not there anymore. Then he met again the reporter Roxanne Ritchi whom he always kidnaps as bait for Metro Man.
The film emphasized how a super villain struggles to discover what he really wanted to be and how love can turn things around.
