Love and other Drugs is a 2010 rated 18 drama film which was based from the non-fictional book titled Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman that was authored by Jamie Reidy. The film was co-written and directed by Edward Zwick under Regency Enterprises, New Regency, Stuber Pictures, and Bedford Falls studios. It was distributed under 20th Century Fox and released last November of 2010 and earned the gross revenue of $102,313,925 worldwide from the budget of $30 million.
The story occurred in 1996. Jamie Randall works in an electronics store but got fired because he got caught of having sex with his manager’s girlfriend. He has a wealthy brother named Josh who then suggested that he work as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Pfizer. He takes the job offer and at first struggles to get or convince the doctors to recommend his product to their patients. Later on, with the help of his strong sex appeal on women, he successfully convinced the doctor to recommend Pfizer. He also met one of the doctor’s patients – Murdock. They involved into an affair which they both didn’t expect to go deeper.
The main casts of the film are Jake Gyllenhaal as Jamie Randall and Anne Hathaway as Maggie Murdock. This was actually the second movie that Jake and Anne were together after their movie Brokeback Mountain in 2005. Other casts of the film were Josh Gad as Josh Randall,Judy Greer, Gabriel Macht, Oliver Platt, Hank Azaria,George Segal, Jill Clayburgh, Katheryn Winnick, Jaimie Alexander, Nikki DeLoach, and Brian Hutchison.
